The Vatsalya, Rourkela in association with the Nagai Narayanji Memorial Foundation, Nagpur organised a free pre-surgical screening camp for orthopedically handicapped children at Aastha Mother and Child Care Hospital here recently.
Paediatric Orthopedic Surgeon Dr Viraj Shingade and his team from Nagpur conducted the screening camp which was supported bySarva Shiksha Abhiyan Sundargarh district Project Office.
As many as 84 physically challenged children from different government schools along with their escorts from Kuanrmunda, Bisra, Nuagaon and Lathikata blocks and under the guidance of the concerned Block Resource Persons (BRP) reached the camp and were screened.
Among 84 children 26 were called up for for surgery which would be done free of cost at the Children Orthopedic Care Institute, Nagpur under care of Dr Shingade in February, 2019.
