The universities have now become mere signboards instead of sufficing their very purpose, opined speakers on the 17 Foundation Day of FM University.North Odisha University Vice Chancellor Prafulla Mishra, attending as chief guest, said, “The university in India about 250 years ago laid stress on quality education and worked for self liberation or Atma Mukti, but now, the university education is chiefly directed towards employment or Nijukti.”
He added that the universities should deliver quality education in the higher studies and be nerve centres for research.Among others FM University Vice Chancellor Sibaprasad Adhikary and Registrar Munish Chandra Adhikary spoke. lambodhar Dalei and Md Farooq were felicitated for their contributions to the society.
