The World Health Day with the theme "Depression: let us talk" was observed with by different organisations at different places in the city on Friday.
The programme held by the the Ganjam Zilla Swasthya Samiti, at the CDMO office was presided over by Medical Officer Dr Manoj Kumar Behera. Among others Assistant Medical Officer Dr Jagdish Patnaik, Dr Saroj Kumar Mishra, Dr Sukanti Mishra, Dr Uma Shankar Mishra, Dr Gitanjali Das, Dr Amulya Mishra, DPM Shyam Sundar Tripathy and district officials were present. ANMs too joined the programme.
The Diabetes Endocare Clinic along with four other organisations observed the day. Dr Sunik Kumar Kotta spoke on causes and prevention of mental depression.
The day was too observed by the Hasa Yoga Kendra, lanjipali, the Sanskarbadi Sangathan, Adarsh Shishu Vidyamandir, Housing Board and the Shankar Eye Hospital.
At the Shankar Eye Hospital, people got their blood pressure checked.
