Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday led the International Day of Yoga celebration at the Konark Sun Temple with participation of over 2,500 people, including Central Government employees, students and yoga practitioners.

Vaishnaw said regular yoga practice helps stay energetic and develop a strong immune system.

Later, the Minister inspected the Puri railway station and reviewed the proposed works related to developing it as a world-class station.

Vaishnaw said the redevelopment works of the Puri railway station would be based on state-of-the-art world-class model.

He informed that the Railways is taking necessary steps to accommodate pilgrims during the ensuing Rath Yatra and also planning to run about 200 special trains to and from Puri during the Rath Yatra period.
