The 42nd annual conference of the AOGO and the first national conference of the Society of Vaginal Surgeons of India (SOVSI) began at Bhubaneswar on Friday and would continue till June 17.
The conference is designed to inculcate the spirit of scientific research in the minds of doctors, especially the younger doctors. Several scientific topics of public importance are to be discussed.
Eminent gynaecologists of national and international repute from all over the country as well as gynaecologists of the State will be deliberating on subjects of importance to the patients. Discussions in the form of symposium, panel discussions, orations etc. are scheduled over the three- day period.
Two workshops were held on Friday one on vaginal surgery and Adbhuta Matrutwa. leading surgeons from all over India presented their skill in the form of videos which was appreciated by all the delegates. The Adbhuta Matrutwa Workshop is a FOGSI initiative and has been linked with Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matrutwa Yojana. It focused on healthy nutrition, Yoga and meditation in pregnancy, stress and anger management in pregnancy and fetal origin of adult diseases.
More than 30 doctors presented research papers. There was a quiz on gynaecological cancer. Over 500 delegates actively participated.
