The Covid-19 vaccination for the 18-44 age group began in the municipal corporation areas of Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur and Brahmapur on Tuesday.
Vaccination for this age group had earlier been launched in the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area on May 3. The State Government received 1 lakh doses of Covshield vaccine and distributed those among the four municipal corporations. The State Government has decided to carry out the vaccination for the 18-44 age category in the five municipal corporation areas initially and later in other parts of the State.
It might be mentioned here that a majority of the positive cases are being reported from these urban areas. Registration and slot booking for receiving the vaccine can be done at https://selfregistration.cowin.gov.in/.
