A delegation of research scholars and faculty members from the Department of Analytical and Applied Economics, Utkal University met Minister of Agriculture and Cooperation Ranedra Pratap Swain and discussed the possibility of a green recovery of Odisha’s agriculture in the aftermath of Covid-19.

The strategy note identifies 13 green recovery strategies for the future of Odisha’s agriculture that can potentially address the key challenges such as decline in the availability of farm labourers, low productivity and low returns in the sector, impact of natural calamities, input shortage and marketing.
The delegation also sought to provide an exposure for the economics researchers from the Utkal University to relevant issues in agricultural economics through interaction with the policy makers so that researchers can integrate the concerns of the policy makers in their ongoing research work in agricultural economics.
Minister Swain carefully listened to the researchers and discussed with them on their respective PhD topics. He appreciated the efforts of the LEAD at Korea University for identifying the green recovery strategies for Odisha.
