The Information and Public Relations Department in association with the Brahmapur Municipal Corporation and the Utkal Parishad celebrated the 81st Utkal Divas on Friday.
Garlanding the statue of Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati at the Giri market here, the celebration was started. Brahmapur Sub-Collector laxmi Kanta Sethi, BDA Chairman Subash Moharana, Mayor K Madhavee, Deputy Mayor Jyotsna Nayak and Mahan Sangha president Suhant Sabat were present.They also garlanded all the statues of legendary personalities in the city.
The Manav Adhikar Suraksha Manch also celebrated Utkal Divas in the MKCG Medical College premises.
The Ganjam Zilla Bikash Manch, the Brahmapur Bikash Parishad, the Utkal Sammilani and the Gajapati Nagar Unnayan Committee also observed the foundation day of Odisha, among other organisations.
