To create public awareness about the ill-effects of noise and smoke caused by firecrackers, social organisation United for Social interests (USI) Foundation in collaboration with the Micronum Solution had held a campaign ‘let’s celebrate Diwali eco-friendly’ here on Tuesday.
USI volunteers led by its Managing Trustee Tarini Prasad Sahoo distributed leaflets and appealed the people not to waste money on poisonous crackers and celebrate the festival in an eco-friendly and traditional way.
The event was concluded with lighting up earthen lamps and candles near the Mahatma Gandhi statue here. Hundreds of general public supported the campaign expressing the need to highlight the issue.
