A joint meeting of the Twin City Commissionerate Police and the Excise Commissioner held here on Thursday recommended to the State Government for cancellation of the bar licences of six hotels in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for using women at the bars.
The meeting decided to strictly enforce Section 25 of the Bihar-Odisha Excise Act-1915 on appointment of women at the hotels, restaurants, clubs and bars. “We have shortlisted the bars at six hotels in the twin city and recommended the State Government for cancellation of their licences,” Excise Commissioner Manoj Ahuja told reporters after the meeting. Among others, Commissioner of Police Dr RP Sharma and senior Excise officials were present at the meeting.
