The Sessions Court here on Monday granted conditional bail to US national William Michel Hurtubise (27) on a surety deposit of `50,000 after a month of his arrest.
William was released in evening from the Jharpada Special Jail here. However, he would not be able to leave Odisha or India till his case is disposed of. William was arrested by the Commissionerate Police from the Biju Patnaik Airport here on the charge of possessing arms. “The Sessions Court directed him to surrender his passport and visa with the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) here,” said his counsel Raj Kishore Das. The case is under investigation and we would file a fresh petition in this connection with the court after consulting with William, Das added.
