Newly appointed Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Jayadev Jena gave an estimate comparing allotment of funds by the UPA Government and the NDA Government to the State.
Addressing a Press conference on Wednesday, PCC Chief Jena said during the tenure of the NDA Government, in which BJD was a coalition partner, the State Government had received Rs 33,884 crore as grant while during the UPA Government, so far Odisha has received Rs 1,09000 crore from the Centre.
The UPA Government waved crop loan worth Rs 72,000 crore. On the contrary, the State Government failed to utilize the Central funds for the people, Jena alleged.
Further, Jena said as per his request, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty alleviation Ajay Maken is shortly going to release Rs 9 crore in the pilot project work in the district of Jajpur, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur and Brahmapur for development of 15 slums under the Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) in first phase.
The detail project report for construction of 878 new houses and 130 transit rental houses spread over 15 slum clusters at the cost of Rs 47.78 crore has been approved by the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee, Jena informed.
But the State Government has failed in every respect of developmental work, including in utilizing funds under MGNERGA, RAY and NRHM etc, he said.
