Additional Principal Secretary to PM Pramod Kumar Mishra received the Sasakawa Award 2019 for Disaster Risk Reduction
The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) on Friday conferred to Dr Mishra with the award at 6th Session of Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) 2019 in Geneva.
The UN Sasakawa Award is the most prestigious international award in the area of disaster risk. A total grant of $50,000 is distributed among the winners which can be either organisations or individuals.
For the 2019 award, the UNDRR received 61 nominations from 31 countries.
