The Bargarh BJP led by its president Narayan Sahu, Padampur MlA Pradeep Purohit and State vice president Ashwini Sarangi conducted a rally and gharaoed the SP office protesting against Bargarh MlA Debesh Acharya and Textiles and Handloom Minister Snehangini Chhuria for abetting attack on Union Ministers.
Purohit said that the police have acted as an agent of the BJD Government. His party men wanted to know why the police arrested 16 persons only when cases had been registered against about 100 persons, including the Bargarh MlA in the Union Minister attack case.
On June 24, Union Ministers Santosh Gangwar and Sadhvi Niranjana Jyati and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda had faced the wrath of the BJD activists when they came to Bargarh to take part in the BJP-sponsored Vikas Utsav, marking two years of the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre.
The BJP demanded immediate arrest of the Bargarh MlA and the Handloom Minister in the case. Pritesh Bahidar, Yuba Morcha Dist president Gourahari Mishra, Sureswar Sathpathy, Nabakishor Panigrahi, Abani Kanta Panda, Ravi Dash, Souri Barik, besides over 1,000 party workers took part.
