The major Unit-4 market here reopened on Friday after being shut down for 14 days by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
During the 14 days, multiple rounds of mass testing were carried out exclusively for the vendors of the market on different dates. The Unit-4 market and its adjacent areas were sanitised several times during the period, said a BMC official.
The traders have been asked to adhere to all the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the Government. Mask-wearing and social distancing by both the traders and customers has been stressed by the civic body.
Notably, On July 16, the market was closed by the BMC to contain further transmission of the virus following some traders of the fish market tested positive.
