The death of a stunt biker while performing at a Meena Bazaar here on Saturday has brought to the fore some of the glaring irregularities by the district administration as well as the show owners.
Though the Meena Bazaar organisers had got permission from the local police, they did not avail permission for the ‘Maut Ki Kuan’ stunt which claimed the precious life of the biker. Though four police constables were on duty in the Meena Bazaar, surprisingly, the local police did not have any inkling about the dangerous stunt.
Besides, most of the cars and bikes used for the stunt were rickety, had worn out tyres and were not road worthy leave alone fit for performing stunts. No district administration officials ever scutinised the safety measures.
It might be mentioned that a few years back, some spectators were injured while watching the ‘Maut Ki Kuan’ at the Baliyatra in Cuttack.
