The Odisha Council of Medical Registration (OCMR) on Tuesday served a notice to former Director of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) Dr Aswini Kumar Pujahari following a viral video showing him unethically experimenting use of edible salt for treatment of cancer.
The OMCR’s notice asked Dr Pujahari to appear before its ethics committee on September 6 in connection with this.
It may be recalled that Dr Pujahari had stepped down from his post on February 9 this year after being accused of undertaking unverified medical practices.
On December 7 last year, Dr Pujahari had been served with a show-cause notice by the Secretary of Health Department following the allegations levelled against him by the Junior Doctors’ Association (JDA). He was sent on leave the very next day by the State Government.
