An under-construction bridge over Badanala in Antarpada panchayat under Buguda block of Ganjam district collapsed on Monday. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
A project of the Rural Development Department, the bridge over Badanala on the Jholari-Manikpur road had its slab work completed on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Rural Development Department Executive Engineer has ordered an investigation into the collapse of the bridge and said reconstruction work of the bridge would begin soon.
RD Department Executive Engineer, Ganjam-I SN Behera said, “We can’t say anything about the incident. The concerned contractor would bear all the expenses and reconstruct the bridge.”
