The Chief Minister-led selection committees met on Thursday to decide on appointment of the State’s Chief Information Commissioner (CIC).
The meeting was at the State Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh attended the meeting.
The committee focused on three names, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Upendra Nath Behera, former Indian Revenue Service officer Sunil Kumar Mishra and Sanjay Panda.
Sources said 1983-batch IAS officer Behera leads
among the contenders for the post of CIC.
However, Chief Minister would pick up the name for the important statutory post.
