While speculations are rife over Balikuda MlA Umesh Swain’s joining BJD after he resigned from Congress on Friday, Swainsaid on Saturday that he is “not untouchable for the BJD”.
Continuing his tirade over the functioning of the State Congress, he said in a Press release that the age-old party has gone directionless. He said that the State unit has been completely under the control of a few incompetent and myopic leaders who are treating it as their parental property and muzzling voices of dissent.
He complained that the party has lost touch with the common people at the grassroots because the leaders who are heading the unit in the State have failed to present before the public any clear policy and objective to fight graft. These leaders on the other hand have been ignoring those party men who are trying to rejuvenate it, he said.
