The State Election Commission (SEC) is likely to notify the poll schedule for 91 urban local bodies (UlBs) on Monday. With the issue of the notification by the SEC, the model code of conduct will be in force till the completion of election process.
Earlier on Thursday, the Urban Development Department had issued notification and apprised the SEC about it and fixing of the dates for the polls. The election process has to be over by September 29 as the five-year tenure of the 91 UlBs, including the Brahampur Municipal Corporation, is slated to end on September 30, the SEC sources said.
