The local BJP unit headed by Nabarangpur district president Dharmu Gond and former Nabarangpur MP Parsuram Majhi on Tuesday staged demonstrations at several places to protest the scarcity of water and unscheduled power cuts in harsh summer. Chanting slogans against the authorities of the PHD and Southco, the protesters picketed at the PHD and Southco office.
They alleged that the denizens of the town are reeling under acute shortage of drinking water and unscheduled power cuts and low voltage, while the concerned authorities are not taking any corrective measures.
