The Twin City Commissionerate police have arrested two persons in Bihar for their alleged involvement in the UCO Bank loot in Bhubaneswar in September this year. While one of the accused was arrested from Patna, another was nabbed from Begusarai area in Bihar.
Both are being brought to Odisha on transit remand after their production before a local court in Patna, police sources said. Notably, the Commissionerate police had formed a special squad to arrest the looters. The police had also prepared sketches of five dacoits on the basis of descriptions given by the bank staffs and customers who were present at the bank during the incident.
It may be recalled that five armed miscreants had looted over Rs 13 lakh and gold ornaments weighing around one kg from the UCO Bank’s Bapuji Nagar branch in Bhubaneswar on September 28.
