The Utkal Sammilani Mancheswar Industrial Estate branch on Sunday demanded that a statue of India’s youngest freedom fighter Baji Rout be installed in Bhubaneswar.
The branch executive committee resolved to urge the State Government to instal a Baji Rout statue as it would inspire future generations.
The meeting chaired by branch president Dillip Dashsharma decided to hold the branch’s election on January 15.
After a one-minute silence prayer in memory of members who lost their lives recently, secretary Govinda Chandra Subudhi presented the financial statement of the previous year. Vice-president Sheetal Chandra Mohanty spoke about President Droupadi Murmu’s unique work and thanked her. Among others Nimai Charan Das, Siddhartha Shankar Garnayak and Er Nlaini Kumar Mohanty spoke.
