Condemning greediness of Daitapatis and other servitors of the Shree Jagannath Temple, the Utkal Sammilani has asked them to learn from the life history of Utakal Gaurav Madhusudan, who had served selflessly to protect the temple from the British on many occasions.
“Madhubabu had once successfully fought a case in crowning minor Jagannath Jenamani as King Mukunda Deb. Though, for this, Queen Suryamani Patamahadei had offered huge amounts of money and valuable ornaments, he turned down to accept them stating that he had the responsibility as an Odia to serve the temple, the pride of Odias. Daitapatis and other servitors should learn from this,” said Sammilani Mancheswar Industrial Estate Branch president Dillip Dashsharma in a statement.
Expressing unhappiness over recent developments arising due to selfish attitude of Daitapatis and other servitors, Dashsharma requested them to refrain from gaining personal interest in exchange of services in the temple.
