The Utkal Sammilani Mancheswar Industrial
Estate branch has lodged a strong protest against the proposed
imposition of Hindi on non-Hindi-speaking States.
The organisation expressed concern over the contents of the speech of
Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the 37th Parliamentary Language
Committee meeting on the importance of Hindi over other India
languages.
A delegation of the Utkal Sammilani branch led by its president Dlllip
Dashsharma met Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal on Monday and
submitted a memorandum addressed to the President of India to him.
The delegation included branch vice-president Sheetal Chandra
Mohanty, secretary Govinda Chandra Subudhi and member Akshay
Kumar Jethi.
