The blood donation camp would start at 10 am and conclude at 6 pm followed by the seminar at 7 pm in the MCl Auditorium, Jagruti Vihar at Burla in Sambalpur district, said Tyaga president and eminent social worker Durga Prasad Padhi.

The main objective of the event is to popularise voluntary blood donation programme, to recruit and retain new rural blood donors exclusively from 500 villages, to honour the regular donors,  to promote a platform to voluntary blood donors and motivators and to generate mass awareness about AIDS, sickle cell, thalassemia and eye donation, Padhi said.

In 2013, Tyaga had organised its third mega blood donation camp at the same venue at Burla and made a record collection of 1,321 units of blood even though nature played truant through heavy rains. Mostly rural donor from around 200 adjoining villages donated blood.
