The Commissionerate Police on Sunday arrested two youths for their involvement in kidnapping a child from the house of a city businessman. They were forwarded to a local court on Monday.
The accused, who were engaged in carpentry work in the house of Malay Pradhan of the Rasulgarh area in the city, had kidnapped Pradhan’s one-year-old daughter and demanded ransom of Rs 15 lakh for release of the child. Though the police had rescued the child from Puri district on August 23, the accused were on the run.
