Craze for clicking risky selfies proved two youth dear as they lost their lives after slipping into a waterfall in Bargarh district on Thursday.
They were identified as Papu Mahakud (18) and Khirod Soni (20) of Jhipiki village under the Paikmal police station. Their bodies were recovered by Fire services personnel.
Papu, Khirod and another friend had visited the Kapildhara waterfall at the famous tourist destination Nrusinghnath despite Covid-19 restrictions and the Nrusinghnath temple being closed for visitors.
Defying rains and despite the closure of road to the temple, the three youngsters reached the waterfall through a remote route by a motorcycle to take selfie.
