It has come to the fore that two women were allegedly sexually exploited by a hotel owner after engaging them at his hotel here as employees.
One of the victims lodged a complaint against the accused with the Khandagiri police alleging that her associate is still in confinement in the hotel.
Acting on the complaint, the police launched an investigation to ascertain the truth.
The victim in her complaint stated that a month ago one of her friends had brought her and one of her friend’s to the city from Adaspur in Cuttack district promising them of providing them jobs in a hotel. They started working in a hotel under the Khandagiri police station. After one month of her joining, the owner asked the victim to work at his house on a high salary to take care of his old mother. She agreed and worked at his house.
After few days, the hotel owner started molesting her. When she informed her friend about her nightmare, she found that her friend had already met the same fate.
However, the victim managed to flee from the house and lodged the complaint with police on Tuesday. She alleged the owner of keeping her friend in confinement.
The hotel owner has threatened her and her friend with dire consequences if they register any complaint with police, the complainant alleged.
