Two women Maoists surrendered here on Sunday. Maoist cadre Sirme Mandingi(24) alias Pamalu, daughter of Barsu Mandingi of Panchingi village, and laxmi Huika(22) of Bhaliaput village under the Narayanapatna Police Station came to the police station and surrendered before senior police officials.
According to the police, Sirme was an armed cadre of the Koraput Division under the Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee of CPI(Maoist) organisation since 2009. She was carrying a reward of `1 lakh over her head.
laxmi was a member of the Jana Natya Mandali since 2009 and was elevated as Sabhapati of the Biplabi Sangha in 2011, police added. The two Maoists would get all the facilities under the Government’s rehabilitation and surrender policy, said a senior police official.
