Two persons were killed when their motorcycle hit an electric pole near Pallikanta village in ther Erasama area on Friday night while they were returning home after attending a political meeting.
The deceased were identified as Hari Khandual of Rasakadapur village and Lalata Lenka of Malapur village under Bhitaraandhari panchayat in Erasama block.
Police said that the duo was returning home after attending a political meeting in Balikuda. They were rushed to the Erasama hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
Later, police registered an accident case and sent the bodies for postmortem.
