Two persons going in an ambulance were killed and four others were seriously injured in an accident between the ambulance and a truck near the Laxmanath tollgate in the district on Sunday night.
The ambulance was carrying a patient and his attendants from Bisnupur in Bankura district of West Bengal and heading for the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack when it had a head-on collision with the truck, which was going towards West Bengal.
While one person died on the spot, the other succumbed to his injuries at the Basta CHC in Baleswar district during treatment, said sources. The four injured persons were undergoing treatment in the hospital.
