The State police on Tuesday arrested two more persons in connections with the Kalahandi palm chopping case. With the two, the number of total arrested persons rose to seven, said Kalahandi Superintendent of Police Sarthak Sarangi.
Notably, some miscreants had chopped off the palms of two migrant labourers on December 15 as they refused to work under the contractor they were hired by. The five accused who were arrested earlier are Parvesh Duni, a labour contractor, Bana Majhi, Baikuntha Raut, Arjun Bag and the driver of the vehicle.
