With the death of two more children at the District Headquarters Hospital here on Friday, the toll due to the Japanese Encephalitis menace reached 64 in 42 days in Malkangiri district.
The day’s deceased were identified as Muna Sagadia (4) of Gamphakonda under Kalimela block of
Malkangiri and Bharti Nag (3) of Gulikonda in Chhattisgarh.
Meanwhile, a six-member Central team reached Malkangiri district headquarters on the day to visit the affected villages and take stock of the situation.
