Two more Dalits accuse Nanda of land grabbing

Published on:

After Hari Pangi and his family members, another two Dalit families have lodged complaint at the Jeypore Sadar police station against School and Mass Education Minister Rabi Narayan Nanda and his wife Indira for encroaching upon their lands in Koraput district.

In their two different complaints, Subhadra Pangi and Raj Gulari of Patraput under Jeypore block alleged the Minister and his wife for grabbing of land in their village. Two different cases have been registered by the police in the police station, sources said.

Notably, Hari Pangi of the same village had moved the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) alleging that the Minister had grabbed over 20 acre of their land at Patraput. The Commission had taken the case seriously and had directed its State coordinator Haladhar Sethi to inquiry into the matter. After investigation, Sethi said the allegation was true. Meanwhile, Nanda clarified that he and his wife didn’t purchase the land but inherited the property from his forefathers.
