Two persons died on spot while the roof of a school room collapsed on Thursday morning here. Sources said the incident happened at an ashram school for girls at Subai under the Nandapur police limits of the ST and SC Development (SSD) department. Some rooms of the school campus had been declared abandoned by the authority. Due to the summer vacation, the school was closed and the deceased were staying there as watchers for the vacation period.
On Thursday morning, the deceased, who were working as cook and attendant in the school, entered into a room which had been abandoned and were stocking some fire woods, when the roof collapsed resulting in the death of the duo. They were identified as Kamal lochan Hantal and Mukund Gantha.
later, Nandapur police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies and handed them over to their family members. More investigation is on.
