At least two persons were injured following violence during election campaign in Mahanga in Cuttack district on Monday.
The incident took place when supporters of BJD candidate and sitting Mahanga MlA Pratap Jena clashed with their counterparts of Independent candidate Sarada Pradhan at Sorol village.
Eyewitness accounts said they had heard gunshots being fired by the clashing groups.
While one person has been arrested, two bikes were damaged in the clash. A case has been registered at Mahanga police station in this connection, reports said.
