The Bhadrak police on Thursday arrested two persons for raping a married woman of Pahadpur village under the Chandipur police limits in Bhadrak district on Wednesday night.
According to the victim, Manas Das of Pahadpur and Dipu Das of Gandhi Nagar in Chandbali block came to her house on Wednesday night and told her husband that the contractor for whom he was working had summoned him on some work.
“The two accused took my husband with them. After a while, both returned and knocked at our door. When I opened the door, the duo gagged me and took turns in raping me before fleeing through the backdoor when my husband came back,” said the woman, who had married three months ago. After coming to know about the incident on Thursday morning, villagers caught the two persons who had come to take their bike, which they had parked at a short distance from the house of the victim on Wednesday night. The villagers tied the duo to a tree and thrashed them severely. On getting information, police reached the village and rescued the two persons.
