The Commissionerate Police on Friday arrested and court-forwarded two accused persons for allegedly raping a minor girl of the Badagada area in the city on Thursday.
The accused were identified as Sushant Bhoi and Biswajit Bhanja of Dolamandap Sahi under the Badagada police limits in the city. They were arrested on the basis of the complaint lodged by girl’s family members on Thursday evening in the police station.
In the FIR, the family members alleged that their daughter was gangraped after spiking her drink by two youths.
Police sources said the prime accused was in a relationship with the girl for the last two years, but had left her last month following the souring of their relationship.
The marriage of the youth has been fixed and he has even got engaged, the sources said.
But the accused had called the girl on Thursday to an isolated place located in Dolamandap Sahi to take back his mobile phone she had taken from him during their relationship.
He then offered the girl a soft drink, which had been spiked. After the girl fell unconscious, he and his friend, who was hiding at the spot before, took turns to rape her.
