The Commissionerate police on Thursday arrested two persons for allegedly hurling bombs at a restaurant a Bapuji Nagar under the Capital police station on Monday night.
The accused were identified as Pradipta Kumar Sahoo alias Star Pintu (27) of Bhimatangi under the Airfield police station and Biswaranjan Pati alias lucky (25) of Chandrasekharpur BDA Colony. They were arrested from Bhimpur at 2 pm.
Police sources said the duo had hurled bombs targeting the restaurant and bar located near a food junction at Bapuji Nagar at 10.35 pm causing damage and injury to a person. On the basis of the complaint of Milind Gupta, a case was registered at the Capital police station.
During the investigation, the police scutinised the footage of CCTV cameras installed in nearby areas and indentified the accused duo and nabbed them. The police came to know that the accused had previous enmity with the security guard of food junction bar. They had come on a motorcycle and terrorised the security guard.
They threw two bombs at the food junction bar causing damage to glasses. The manager of the restaurant Surendra Pattanaik, was injured in the attack.
The accused confessed to their involvement in the crime.
