Two small children died in snakebite and their mother was admitted in Keonjhar hospital in a serious condition here on Saturday night.
The snakebite incident took place when deceased Bilasini (8) and her sister Anjali (5) of Badhunidhada village in Harichandanpur block along with their mother Gurubari Juanga were asleep. According to Netramani Juanga, the father of the deceased, a jungle snake had slipped into his house at night. On hearing his children’s and wife’s screams, he immediately shifted them to the Keonjhar Government hospital, where Anjali and Bilasini were declared dead.
The condition of Gurubari is stated to be critical.
