Despite the Government directives, several private educational institutions are flouting the Covid-appropriate behaviour guidelines in the capital city Bhubaneswar.
This came to light when two such institutes were sealed by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday.
The BMC sealed the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan at Unit-3 after an enforcement squad found that examination was being conducted in offline mode. The civic body also sealed a coaching centre, Adwitiya Academy, at Nayapalli for violation of the Covid-19 guidelines. “The institute is closed for violation of shutdown measures and directives issued for Covid-19 management as per the provisions under Sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, Section 188 of IPC, the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and other legal provisions as applicable,” stated a BMC notice.
Earlier, several coaching centres and colleges have also been sealed in the city for violation of pandemic norms.
