Two dreaded criminals were nabbed following an encounter by the Commissionerate police at Balianta on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday.
The criminals, identified as Harihar Samal aka Hari Mental and lipu, received bullet injuries on legs and were admitted to the Capital Hospital. Police seized two pistols and two live bullets from them.
The two have several criminal cases pending against them at various police stations in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Jagatsinghpur and other parts of the State.
The duo was actively involved in a series of extortion, dacoity, attempt to murder cases and other petty crimes while their involvement in other cases is being verified, said Bhubaneswar DCP, Satyabrat Bhoi.
