The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court here convicted and sentenced two directors of a chit fund firm to five and three years of rigorous imprisonment (RI).
The court convicted Binayak Mishra and Gitanjali Panigrahi, directors of Maa Mangala Savings & Credit Cooperative limited and convicted them to five and three years of RI, respectively.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Mishra; failure to deposit the fine amount would increase his jail term by another six months.
