Two BTech students, Biswaranjan Pati (25) and Diptiman Jena (21), of the Bhubaneswar-based College of Engineering and Technology (CET) drowned in the Birupa river at Indupur Ghat under the Nikirai police station on Saturday.
Biswarnajan, son of Radhamadhab Pati of Indupur Habalisahi in Kendrapada district, and Diptiman, son of Ratnakar Jena of Salimia under Nandipada police limits in Keonjhar district, drowned while they were taking bath in the river, said Nikirai PS IIC Pradyumna Nayak.
Diptiman had come to the house of Biswaranjan and they went to take bath in the river. They slipped into the deepwater. Notably, ten days ago, two boys, including a teenager, had drowned in the Birupa at Palipatana (Charapada) Ghat.
