Two bike riders were killed in a road mishap at Nilachala Bazar near Bhutamundei on NH-5(A) on Wednesday night.
The deceased were identified as Basudev Sahoo of Gandikipur village in the Kujang area and Pabitra Sahoo hailing from Kalikuda village under Erasama block.
Reports said that both were returning to Kujang by a bike when a speeding oil tanker hit them front side and fled away from the spot.
Both lay on the road unconscious with multiple injuries before locals shifted them to the Biju Memorial Hospital at Atharabanki for treatment. But they were declared brought dead by the doctor.
Police seized the bodies and performed postmortem after registering an accident case and began searching for the oil tanker involved in the accident.
