Two persons were arrested by the Bamunigaon police in Kandhamal district on Saturday for raping a woman in front of the Brahmapur railway station in Ganjam district after kidnapping from her village in Kandhamal district.
The accused were identified as Jotindra Sobhasundar (30) and Tukuna Sobhasundar (30), both from Minjapanka village under the Bamunigaon police station in Kandhamal. The two were the cousins of the victim, the police sources said.
Three persons were involved in the kidnap and rape case, while the third one is still absconding. The duo would be handed over to the Brahmapur GRP and the case would also be transferred to the GRP on the point of jurisdiction, Bamunigaon police said.
