Several trade union leaders and members have decided to gherao the Tirtol police station on Monday protesting against police inaction in arresting the culprits involved in demolishing the boundary wall of the house of veteran trade union leader and PPT Trust Board member Sudhakar Mantry at Rahama on Friday last.

Some people under the leadership of one Pramod Sahoo alias Pamuna hailing from Talapada near Kujang allegedly entered into Mantry’s residence and asked him to remove the boundary wall. Mantry said he has legal possession of the land where he has erected the boundary wall. But the group demolished the wall.

Mantry lodged an FIR at the Tirtol PS against Pamuna and his associates, but the police are yet to arrest the culprits. Protesting the incident, several trade union leaders held a meeting and decided to gherao the police station.
