Trade union leaders have helped many labourers get identity cards from the Vyasanagar Municipality office during the ongoing Covid-10 lockdown.
CITU Jajpur district president Prafulla Nayak, INTUC leader Paramananda Sethi and TU leaders like Dushmanta Kumar Rout, Kartikeswar Palei and Arun Das assisted the labourers on record verifications in the municipality office. Rural Labor Inspector Sanjit Kumar Deo, municipality Community Organiser Subhashree Samal and staffs Santanu Bal, Satyapriya Bai and Brundaban Pallar assisted in disbursement of labour cards and paid Rs 1,500 to each cardholders.
Rout demanded that the State Government provide assistance to all 1.37 lakh laborers in Jajpur district from the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board Fund instead of 57,000 workers.
